Founder’s Story

About the Founder
Monique Levy’s childhood ritual of throwing up change from the store and yelling “to the poor” showed her heart from the very beginning. As a young adult, in 2005 she began to develop her Human Service background at Innterim Housing Corporation where she discovered her fulfillment in helping other women. There she helped the Executive Director plan activities and events for the displaced residents. In 2012, she founded the organization Led Ladies and hosted their first workshop “You’re a star”, discovering self-worth, at the then, Hannah Moore Emergency Shelter. She continued to enhance her skill set in 2013 in Annapolis Md. at the Community Action Agency where she assisted
families with emergency energy. Years later in 2015, she relocated her vocation back to Baltimore where her services were utilized to help the community with rental and energy assistance. Monique has overcome many obstacles that young lady’s face and uses this organization to offer a hand to pull out and redirect lives. She exercises a lifestyle of meeting ladies where they are.
